I was just talking to a friend and I was explaining something to her about time and then I just had what I would call an epiphany. Well, maybe not but still a thought that I had actually grieved me. This may not have the same effect on you but I have been impacted by this.
The average Christian spends an hour day with God 365/hrs a year divided by 24(hours in a day) and you get 15.2 days.
The average Christian spends 3/hrs a week on a Sunday in church. Multiply that by 52 (weeks in a year) and you get 6.5 days a year in church.
The average Christian goes to a small group once a month at about 3 hours each time, that puts that at 12/hrs a month. Multiply that by 12 (months in a year) and you 144 hours
in a year spent at small group. Divide that by 24 and you get 6 days a year.
Re-cap
Quiet Times: 15.2 days a year
Sunday: 6.5 days a year
Small Group: 6 days a year
Total: 27.7 days of a year devoted to God out of 365.
Now add up leisure, entertainment etc and you will see the problem. No wonder the church is in a rough spot. Obviously there are morepeople do in devotion to God but if you stop and look at the numbers this is staggering. Especially
